Canoe 3.7
Marc imagined, designed and builds the Canoe 3.7. Drawn using computer software today, the art of boatbuilding lies in the understanding of figures and lines with curved, arched, and rarely straight shapes in 2 dimensions to achieve harmony in 3 dimensions.
The Canoe 3.7 is built on a skeleton made up of plywood partitions assembled on a longitudinal panel, the whole making up the interior volume. A glued laminated keel and around fifty small slats 4 meters long, made from local Douglas fir, is fitted onto this mould to give shape to the boat.
For the exterior appearance of the Canoe 3.7 several finishes are available, in paint with different colors, for collective or rental use, or in varnish, for a classic and chic appearance. Whatever the finish chosen, a glass fabric is glued to the epoxy, in order to further increase its strength and resistance to impacts.
Canoe 3.7: Length 370 cm - Width 74 cm - Weight 20 to 35 kg depending on version. Materials used during building: Douglas fir from the Occitania region of France (structure, hull and paddle) Mahogany from Gabon (for the varnished version).

Marc Vuilliomenet also builds the "Cap Corse", a well-known and easily recognised mahogany strip planked sailing boat, designed by Jean-Jacques Herbulot.
Designed by Jean-Jacques Herbulot in 1957, the Cap-Corse is a small familly cruising boat. Built of cold-molded mahogany strip planking on solid mahogany frames, her bulkheads and deck are made of the finest quality marine plywood. Marc's vacuum-molding technique ensures the result is both resilient and long-lasting.
Safety wise, the Cap-Corse is rendered unsinkable by her sealed compartments located under the beds, cockpit floor and adjacent structures.
The fully varnished finish appeared to be the only available option folowing the quality of the timber selected and used. In order to keep the design simple and effective, Marc uses hardwood throughout the vessel.
Easily transported on a road trailer, this coastal cruising boat with a displacement of 600Kg is certified for 4 passengers in Category D or 2 passengers in Category C (French legislation).
Fitted as standard with four berths and two wardrobes, the Cap-Corse can also be fitted with a galley and a head.
With a draft of merely 56cm, she can explore the narrowest creeks and is a pure pleasure to sail.
